Archaeology Notes

NC45NE 14 4760 5858.

At NC 4760 5858, on the S side of a burn, is an oval burnt mound, measuring 8.0m E-W by 3.5m transversely and 0.9m high. The content of heat-stained friable stone is exposed in the edge of the mound. There is no trace of hut circles or a field system in the immediate vicinity; the nearest huts are respectively 400m and 500m away (see NC45NE 15 & 16). Surveyed at 1:10,000.
