Archaeology Notes

NT05NE 3 c. 059 569

Roman coins were found about 1830 by labourers digging a ditch near Crosswood Burn, 1 1/2 miles W of Castle Greg. They were presented by Mr Steel of Crosswood-hill to the society of Antiquaries of Scotland.

(A point on Crosswood Burn, 1 1/2 miles S of Castle Greg, would give a findspot NT c. 059 569).

H B M'Call 1894.
