(Name: NT 029 427) East Gladstone (NAT) on site of Castle (NR)

OS 6" map (1958)

The 1st edition 25" plan depicts the remains of a 'Castle' about 7.0m square, centred at NT 0302 4277. It was then described as about 25' high with 4' thick walls, but by 1911 its site was occupied by a farm building. The date of erection is not known.

There is no trace of a tower. Incorporated in two barns are stones bearing the dates 1619 and 1778.
