Occupying the haughland on both banks of Strathmore River is the deserted settlement of Crannach comprising the footings of at least four buildings, associated enclosures and rig-and-furrow, overlaid by post-Clearances sheepfolds and fields.

The name Strathmor as applied to this area by Roy (1747-55, sheet 35/2) is not known locally.

Visited by OS 24 November 1978.

W Roy 1747-55.

This small township comprising five unroofed buildings is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1878, sheet xlii).

Five unroofed buildings, two of which are marked as ruins, an enclosure and some field walls are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,000 map (1988).
