Archaeology Notes

NT04NE 28 070 489.

An axe of crystalline grey stone, measuring 5.5" by 1.9" by 1.5", pointed butt, round cross-section, found on Dunsyre Hill (NT 070 489) is in the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS Accession no AF 939). It was an item in the collection of the late Peter F Dunlop, which was purchased in 1955.
