Archaeology Notes

NT03NW 11 0145 3098.

NT 0145 3098. Situated on the ridge between Howegill Rig and Windgill Knowe is a low, circular mound 13.2m in diameter, around the top of which is an earthen bank 0.4m high, spread to a width of 3.3m and without a break in it. A slight platform, 5.5m wide, surrounds the mound. There is very little stone about the site and its precise character and purpose cannot be determined. See

This feature is not included in the RCAHMS inventory of prehistoric monuments in Lanarkshire. (RCAHMS 1978).
