Field Visit (February 1975)
NT03NW 43 049 393.
NT 049 393. An enclosure lies in the saddle 150m E of the fort on Bizzyberry Hill (NT03NW 5). It measures about 12m overall and consists of a central area, about 6.2m in diameter, surrounded by a ditch up to 2.9m wide and 0.4m deep. The ditch is interrupted on the ESE by a causeway 1.7m wide. Ploughing has removed the outer lip of the ditch for a short stretch on the S.
This enclosure is comparable with that at Windy Gate (NT04NW 28, q.v.) though at this site, ploughing has destroyed any possible traces of an outer bank. This may possibly be a funerary monument.
RCAHMS 1978, visited February 1975.
Measured Survey (1975)
RCAHMS surveyed the enclosure at Bizzyberry Hill by alidade and plane-table at a scale of 4mm:1ft in 1975. The plan was redrawn in ink but it was not published in the County Inventory (RCAHMS 1978).
