Remains of an enclosure some 3/4 mile NNW of Meikleholmside. A much spread single stony mound encloses an area 149' by 113'. The interior rises to a ridge crossing the centre from N to S, and the lower part on the W is overlooked by higher ground immediately adjacent on the

RCAHMS 1920, visited 1912
Occupying a non-defensive position on a terrace this oval enclosure measures 48.0m N-S by 34.0m within a slight earth-and-stone bank. In the W a marshy area appears to have been artificially dug and the excavated material spread across the centre of the enclosure. This site is probably no more than the remains of a farm enclosure of no great age. Visited by OS (I A) 24 September 1973
No change to previous field report.

Situated on an E-facing spur on the W side of Upper Annandale, there are the remains of a settlement. Roughly oval on plan, it measures 45.7m from N to S by 33m transversely within a turf-covered bank up to 4.7m thick and 0.3m high. The bank is best preserved on the N and S; on the E it has been reduced to little more than a scarp and it has probably been robbed on the W. The entrance (c. 2.5m wide) is on the SSE. The E and N part of the interior is marked by a raised area upon which there is a possible house-site (marked by a shallow depression) measuring 7.5m in diameter.

Listed as settlement.
