Archaeology Notes

NT00NE 2 0611 0887.

Excavations carried out by St. Joseph on 1st September 1939 disproved the existence of a Roman fortlet which Crawford suggested was located at NT 0611 0887, at Bushel Beck. The hollows there were found to be entirely natural. Two annotated 6" maps (O G S Crawford and St Joseph), undated.

Information: O G S Crawford
