Remains of a camp or fort, now almost entirely defaced.

NT 0943 0649. Vestiges of a ploughed-out scooped enclosure are situated on the gentle NW-facing slope of Sparrow Hill. It has measured c. 30.0m in diameter over a single stony bank, slightly preserved on the S side. Its size and non-defensive situation would suggest that it had been a homestead.

The remains of this scooped settlement are poorly preserved and lie in an arable field 110m W of Alton Cottage. The settlement measures about 26m in diameter within a low inner-facing scarp on the S arc and the top edge of a low outer-facing scarp on the E, N and W.
