Archaeology Notes

NS97SE 78 c. 994 723

Craigmailen Stone. A natural boulder with an inscription dated 14 January 1738. It commemorates the preaching of John Hunter to a Secession congregation which worshipped here in the open until Craigmailen Church was built in 1742.
