This well is said to have supplied the Preceptory (of the Knights of St John - NS97SE 7) with water. In 1856 it was "covered, but not filled up, with a small stream, also covered, issuing from it." Its waters were said to have healing powers in 1845.

Only a slight depression near the base of the hillside marks the site of this well. No other traces. Ground under rough pasture.
