Archaeology Notes

NS97SE 35 c. 974 729.

Mr Philps of Gormyre (NS 974 729) showed Prof Duns the remains of a pair of spurs, which he stated he had taken out of a half-length stone coffin (short cist) dug up in his ground. The cist, he said, contained a good deal of black dust, in which parts of the iron of the spurs were found.

Prof Duns 1878.
