This feature is a small cavity in some surface rocks, within the fort on the summit of Cockleroy (NS97SE 9). It is about 7' long, 2' wide and 3' deep, open at the S end. William Wallace is said to have rested here.

Name Book 1856.

NS 9892 7442. A small cleft in a S facing rock face.
