OS 6" map, Lanarkshire, 2nd ed., (1912).
A much dilapidated tower and part of a vaulted ground chamber, with walls three feet thick. Several disconnected rounds of a spiral staircase are still attached ot the tower.
Date of erection not known.
Name Book 1857.
The remains of this castle or tower consist of an angle of walling, 5.0m. by 4.0m., almost completely buried beneath an amorphous mass of rubble and farm refuse.
Visited by OS (WDJ) 22 January 1968.
NS 997 366 Due to the proximity of the site of Annieston Tower (NS93NE 10), a watching brief was undertaken in March 2005 prior to residential development. Only one archaeological feature of minor significance was observed: a very shallow curvilinear ditch. While the base of a moulded green glass bottle was recovered from the top layer of this ditch, no secure dating evidence was recovered.

Watching Brief (March 2005)
NS 997 366 Due to the proximity of the site of Annieston Tower (NS93NE 10), a watching brief was undertaken in March 2005 prior to residential development.
