Archaeology Notes

NS92SE 7 9548 2142.

An 'urn' found on Castle Crawford Farm, New Statistical Account (NSA 1845, T Anderson), contained small pieces of bone, persumably a cremation burial. The urn no longer exists.

NSA 1845; RCAHMS 1978.

NS 9548 2142 An urn is believed to have been found here about a hundred years ago, when building the present house (Information from Mr Haddow, owner Castle Crawford Farm). No further information was obtained during field investigation. Site located under the present living room of Castle farmhouse.
