(NS 8981 8650) Lady Well (NR) (site of)

OS 6" map (1967)

There are no structural remains on the site of the Lady Well. It is supposed to have obtained its name from the holy water, in the time of Popery, being taken from it to supply the abbacy, or Catholic chapel, then at Airth (NS98NW 12). The water was still used medicinally at the end of the 18th century (OSA 1742).

RCAHMS 1963, visited 1954

No remains of the well were found, and no information was obtained during field investigation.

Visited by OS (MH) 16 July 1953
