Archaeology Notes

NS80SE 18 89 03.

There are two Group VI stone axes from Durisdeer parish in Dumfries Museum (Accession nos: 1949-7 and 1965-99). The former measures 4.4 by 2.0 ins. (Durisdeer: NS 89 03). (Group VI comprises objects of epidotized intermediate tuff of the Borrowdale Volcanic Series from the Great Langdale and Scafell areas of Cumbria).
