Archaeology Notes

NS80SE 14 87 04.

A chisel-shaped sandstone axe, 5 3/4 by 2 by 5/8 ins, found at Inglestone Rigg, Durisdeer, about 1823, which was in Thornhill Museum in 1888, was transferred to Dumfries Museum in 1965. (Inglestone is at NS 869 047 and The Rig, at NS 876 042.)
