(NS 7943 9342) Watch Tower (NR)

OS 6" map (1958)

This bastion in the Town Wall of Stirling is circular on plan and the portion projecting S of the Wall contains three gun-loops. The interior, 13'5" in diameter, is entered from the NE. The structure has been altered, as the floor is now more than 2' above the sill-level of the gun-loops, the interior is brick-lined, and there is a domed roof of rubble with a circular opening in the crown of the vault. This suggests that the bastion has been converted for use as a dovecot at some stage, and it is uncertain how much of the structure that projects N of the Wall is original.
