OS 6" map (1913)

The ruins of an old castle. Parts of it were destroyed about 1828. No mention is made of this castle in the accounts of the parish.

Name Book 1858

Plotcock Castle: This small ruined tower, of probable 16th century date, is situated in a sharp bend of the ravine-like Plotcock Glen and is isolated from higher ground to the East by a ditch which is now crossed by a small causeway. It is oblong on plan, measuring 5.5m from north to south; 4.3m transversely over walling of rubble masonry, 2.0m in width. The lower courses only of the structure survive heavily overgrown. No evidence of an entrance survives.

Surveyed at 1/2500.
