(NS 7221 3037) Wetherhill Cairn (NR)

OS 6" map (1959)

This almost circular cairn, measuring 30ft N-S by 25ft E-W, is situated at the W end of Wetherhill ridge (1128ft OD). There is no evidence of a kerb. When excavated, a food vessel, fragments of a (? collared) cinerary urn containing a cremation, and a deposit of charcoal and burnt bones were found. The food vessel and the rim of the cinerary urn are now in the NMAS (Acc Nos: EE 118 and EA 192 respectively).
