(NS 7162 2820) Standing Stone (NR)

OS 6" map (1959)

This standing stone measures 3' by 2'6" and is 7' high.

J Smith 1895

Close examination of this stone was not possible as it was situated in a field under high crop.

Surveyed at 1:2500.

Visited by OS (JLD) 24 July 1954

A standing stone as described by Smith, situated on a low spur in a pasture field. There are several small indentations in the surface of the N face, which superficially resemble cup-marks, but they are almost certainly natural.

Visited by OS (NKB) 29 June 1978
