(NS 6989 9813) Coldoch and remains of Mansion (NR)

OS 6" map (1958)

The mansion of Coldoch was built by Robert Spittal about 1513. The old part consists of a square two-storey house with an east wing having a large turret staircase to the north.

The turret staircase is incorporated within the modern building and the original front entrance, of which the turret formed part, is at the rear.

Visited by OS (VEL) 13 January 1954

About three years ago Coldoch, including the old part, was completely demolished and the site is now planted with young trees.
