Archaeology Notes

NS67NW 11 c. 62 77

Perforated stone pebble axe-head found in gravel near Glazert Water, Lennoxtown. Now in Glasgow Art Galleries.

Information from Glasgow Art Galleries and Museums accessions list.

Elliptical stone hammer from Lennox Castle found in gravel layer in 1932 by W D Thomson Junr. Now in Kelvingrove Art Galleries.

Information from Miss L F Chitty from the card index.

In the Kelvingrove Art Galleries is an elliptical-shaped, stone axe-head, found near the Glazert Water. There is no record of any other stone artifact from Lennox Castle, and I consider that the above authorities refer to the same object.

Information from J G Scott to OS, 27 February 1957.
