(NS 6812 5677) Kennings Well (NAT)

OS 6" map, Lanarkshire, 1st ed., (1859)

Kennings Well is an open spring well, still in use. It is mentioned in 1693 and was traditionally given to the villagers and farmers by one of the Priors of Blantyre Priory.

The occasional attribution to Saint Kennings is apocryphal.

Name Book 1857.
