'Near the mouth of the burn, in the stream bed, lower half of a lugged mortar, of white marble; one of the detached lugs found nearby. Outer and inner surfaces roughly worked. Diameter of flat base 220mm; external wall slope 60; estimated wall thickness 60mm; outside diameter across break 360mm.'
