Situated 250m W of Whitehill farm, 200m (220 yds) W of the road's corner, below the steep artificial bank but above a rock escarpment, is one of a number of flat smooth gritstone outcrops, 1 3/4m by 1m (6ft x 2 3/4ft) horizontal at ground level. On it are: a cup-and-two-ungapped-rings with a radial groove from the cup, and a second one from the inner ring, the grooves being deeper than the r ings, giving a 'gapped' effect. Diameter 23cm (9ins). There is also a cup. Greatest carving depth 1cm (1/2ins). It is believed that, in making a football pitch in 1980, this carving has been covered over.

Desk Based Assessment (2012)
CFA Archaeology Ltd undertook an assessment of the cultural heritage implications of the proposed route of a replacement overhead line (XF Route) from Neilston, Renfrewshire to Windyhill, East Dunbartonshire.
Although 109 cultural heritage features were identified by the desk-based assessment of the 250m buffer around the proposed route of the replacement XF overhead line, very few of these lie along the route of the line, or in immediate vicinity of the location of any of the towers.
The overhead line replacement project has been assessed against the cultural heritage baseline. Taking into account the construction methodology to be employed and agreed mitigation strategy, it is considered that the development conforms to Local and National Policy relating to the cultural heritage resource.

Location Notes: A thorough search was made of the area within 40m of the grid reference, but no trace was found of the cup and ring marked rock described by Morris. There are almost no boulders or rock outcrops in this area today. Local residents note that the area has been leveled in the past, making it likely that the carved rock has been covered.
