Archaeology Notes

NC00NE 1 0549 0508.

At NC 0549 0508 is a circular stone-walled hut almost obliterated by peat. A few stones showing intermittently through the peat indicate a diameter of about 9.0m. Entrance not evident. 8.0m to the N of the hut is a contemporary ruinous wall running for 45.0m along the contour. From this wall, behind the hut, springs an arc of walling which is all that can be seen of a small, probably contemporary, enclosure.

Surveyed at 1:10,000.

Visited by OS (J M) 11 July 1974.
