Archaeology Notes

NS57NE 14 5767 7555.

(Area: NS 5767 7550) A worn 'denarius' of Trajan (AD 98-117) was found in May, 1957, in Baldernock Churchyard by J Robson, 3 Golfcourse Road, Balmore. It lay at a depth of 1ft in the oldest part of the courtyard where the stones date back to 1644. The coin is now in the Hunterian Museum, Glasgow.

A S Robertson 1963.

The find spot of this coin, found beneath a boulder, was pointed out by Mr Robson at NS 5767 7555.
