Photographic Survey (24 November 2016)
A group of five 1960s 18-storey tower blocks known collectively as Broomhill Flats. Three of the blocks (5,10,25) have been photographed whilst undergoing a programme of work intended to improve thermal efficiency: external insulation is being fitted and rendered over and a wood pellet district heating system is under construction, to be supplemented by condensing gas boilers during severe weather. The work is being carried out by Cube Housing Association and British Gas, with similar schemes being installed in other housing estates.
