Kelvinside Academy, 20 Bellshaugh Road, 1877, James Sellars

Dignified Greek Ionic temple over plain entrance podium, with severe wings and taller end pavilions. An early work by an eclectic architect, later using any style, Sellars was by temperament a classicist. Cast-iron lamp standards, decorated with entwined bay leaves, flank the entrance.
