The Statistical Account (OSA 1792) states that "There is a Druidical ruin in the inclosures, near Loudoun House". (This may be a reference to the cairn in Loudoun Park: NS53NW 9, which is not otherwise noted in the OSA). However, Smith appears to interpret the OSA as referring to a "Druidical circle, near the findspot of the stone coffins in Loudoun Park" (cairn NS53NW 9).
J Smith 1895
No trace of any stone circle was found in Loudoun Park and Lady Loudoun (Loudoun Cottage) could give no information.
