NS47SE 63.02 NS 45888 73042 Ferryrdyke, canal stables

Ferrydyke Bascule Bridge: Late 18th century. Standard Forth and Clyde Canal bascule bridge carrying road to Donald's Quay (former ferry quay). Single storey harled bridge keeper's cottage (NS47SE 63.01, NS458 730).

By this bascule bridge one of the bridge-keepers' cottages (NS47SE 63.01) is extant, but the former stables (NS47SE 63.02) are now in a ruinous condition.

This bridge is Listed with NS47SE 58 as 'two canal drawbridges at Bowling'.

Beside this original bascule bridge is a bridge-keeper's cottage (NS47SE 63.01). The ruins of the stables (NS47SE 63.02) are visible nearby, beneath the level of the towpath.
