Archaeology Notes

NS47SE 51 465 723

(NS 465 723) A sestertius of Galba which was corroded and severely trimmed was found by mechanical excavation at the site of either pier 7 or 6 for the north approach to Erskine Bridge. It may have been in the upper 10 feet of dumped deposits that had been brought from elsewhere. It belonged to Mr J McWhinney and was submitted in January 1968.

A S Robertson 1974.
