St Patrick's or the Trees' Well, adjoining the church (which was dedicated to St Patrick) was used from time immemorial until lately; it has been found unfit for use and consequently ordered to be closed up.
J Bruce 1893.
A stone-lined well in a state of dilapidation and filled with rubbish. The contents of the well also include a sign board bearing a painted notice: 'St Patrick's Well'.
Visited by OS (WMJ), 27 March 1951.
The well has now been covered over, and a drinking fountain erected over what appears to be the centre of the well.
Visited by OS Reviser, 7 July 1963.
