(Centred NS 4717 7310) Two Roman distance slabs, found prior to 1695, were probably set up together at a point about 120 yds E of the Sandyford or Dalnottar Burn. They were erroneously stated by earlier authorities (R Stuart 1852) to have been found on the Chapel Hill, Old Kilpatrick.
Slab 'A' is plain, measuring 2'8" x 1'7 1/2"; its inscription reads: "IMP.C.T.AELIO.HADRIANO.ANTONINO.AVG.P.P.VEX.LEG.VI.VIC.P.F.OPVS.VALLI. P.XXXXC.XLI".
Slab 'B', is a fragment measuring 2' x 1'6". Its design is comparable with that noted on NS57SW. Its inscription reads: "(I)MP.C.T.AE.(H)ADRIANO.(A)NTONINO.(AV)G.PIO.P.P.(CVEX.L)EG.XX.V.V. (P.P.IIIIC)DXI.(FEC)".
