Re: VANDALISM on estate; printed leaflet attached

"Sir, I am at this moment come up to Mauchline and when I came past the house on the hill was astonished to see how it was destroyed by some malitius persons, the mason work on every door and window is brock down, as also the chimney pieces; in short the whol is so much hurt that I cannot see how it can be repaired without the front being built anew.

You may have got information before this, but I could not rest untill i sent you word so wishing that the perptrator may be brought to conding punishment.

I remain Sir Your Humble Servant,

Andrew Paton

Mauchline

Addressed: Claud Alexander of Ballamile Esqr
