Giffenmill Viaduct [NAT]

(Location cited as NS 356 5111). Giffenmill Viaduct, opened 1903 by the Lanarkshire and Ayrshire Rly. A 7-span viaduct, with semicircular concrete arches, now disused.

Architecture Notes

Description:

1903. 7-span, low semicircular concrete arched viaduct with channelled rustication to facing, across Dusk Water. Pilaster panels between each arch rise through parapet and coping; string course below parapet.

Notes:

Built for the Lanarkshire and Ayrshire Railway. Now in deteriorating condition.
