Church built 1774 partly on the site of its predecessor, various repairs up to 1830. Tombstones in burial-ground date back to 1596 and include that of Covenanters James Blackwood and John McCoull, executed in 1666. The stone marking the grave was erected in 1823.

Large classical box church with elegant steeple by David Muir 1772-4. Interior has fine C19 stained glass, some by the Keir family and a modern window dedicated to Burns who worshipped in the church when resident in Irvine. Interior underwent repair and restoration at least twice in the C19.
