Kilkerran House: Late 18th century.
SDD List 1963
One of the first mentions of Kilkerran is in 1691 (Kilkerran Estate Office Doc Inf) and the present core of the house dates from this period. It has later classical enlargement by William Adam, and was added to in 1818 and 1873. Of three storeys, it has flanking pavilions, side bowed facades and projecting parallel wings to the rear.
Kilmarnock Museum Arch Index
No 17th century detail is apparent externally, the house largely reflecting Adam's outstanding enlargement.
