OS 1:10000 map (1977)

Kilhenzie Castle is a typical example of a small late 16th century tower, with a 17th century addition. The original tower is oblong on plan, rubble-built, and rises to two storeys and an attic, with angle-turrets at eaves level. The addition, at the E, make the plan L-shaped. It is of three storeys, and does not equal the tower in height. In the re-entrant angle between tower and extension rises a modernised circular stair-tower. The interior has been much altered and some windows enlarged, the house having been restored from a ruinous condition in the second half of the 19th century. It is now in good repair and in use as a farmhouse.

Prior to the mid-17th century Kilhenzie was owned by a branch of the Baird family, but thereafter passed to the Kennedies.
