The southern part of Clachan House is all that remains of an ancient building formerly occupied by the ancestors of the present Duke of Argyll. It is also known as 'The Easter House' but not locally.

Name Book 1896; NSA 1845

Clachan House is now in a derelict condition. The southern half of the oldest part has been gutted by fire, but the walls remain to roof heights. The building is plain and has no outstanding architectural features.

Visited by OS (WDJ) 10 January 1963

Site now occupied by modern housing scheme.
