The Battle of Glenfruin was fought on the 7th February, 1603 and resulted in the defeat of the Colquhouns of Luss by the Macgregors of Glenstra.

There is no place which can be marked as the exact site of this Battle; but it is supposed to have taken place in a large flat piece of ground near Auchingaich.
Name Book 1896
Excavations at mound NS28NE 11, traditionally thought to have been the burial place of the Colquhouns killed in this battle, showed it to be a Bronze Age cairn.
