Archaeology Notes

NS20SE 21 25990 00820

Sub-oval enclosure, known from cropmarks, situated at c.31m OD, some 200m SSE of the Water of Girvan. Ditch is narrow but regular, broken by two opposed entrances with squared terminals. No trace of a bank. Some vague internal marks, and a faint cropmark line which turns an abrupt right angle. There is a possible ring-ditch in the adjacent field to SSE. Unlikely to be henge-related.
