Archaeology Notes

NB03NE 8 09 36.

A human skull and rib bones were visible in the face of a sand-hill at Kneep, Valtos (NB 09 36) exposed by the action of the wind. 'The deposit had been disturbed so it was impossible to say whether the grave had been a short or long cist'.

There are kitchen-middens in the area, many of them under cultivation.

Grave at Kneep, Valtos.

At Kneep are further kitchen middens, many being under the plough, and a human skull and rib bones were visible in the face of a sand-hill, having been exposed by the action of the wind. The deposit had been disturbed, so it was impossible to say whether the grave had been a short or long cist.
