Archaeology Notes

NR89SE 12 8607 9428.

A standing stone, similar to NR89SE 3, once stood NW of cup and ring marked rock NR89SE 11, but it had fallen, and was removed some years ago to simplify ploughing (B Thomson, Torbhlaren Farm). Present whereabouts unknown.

R W B Morris MSS, 1969

NR 8607 9428. The stone, measuring 3.4m by 0.8m by 0.2m thick is now used as a footbridge across a ditch. According to the farmer it lies not far from its original position (ie SW of NR89SE 11).
