Archaeology Notes

NR88NE 10 8811 8554.

NR 882 855 Two flints were discovered by Duncan Macintyre, Ballibeg, during potato lifting. One flake had been struck off the core to give a sharp curved edge, c 1" long, without secondary working. The second is a sub-triangular scraper, with the longer edge showing secondary working. They are preserved by the finder.

E R Cregeen 1956; M Campbell and M Sandeman 1964.

A sketch supplied by the finder (Duncan MacIntrye, 18 Andrew Avenue, Lenzie, Kirkintilloch, Glasgow) indicates the find spot as at NR 8811 8554. The flints were sent to Mr J Scott Glasgow Art Gallery and Museum.

Visited by OS (W D J) 3 April 1970.
