OS 6" map, (1924)

See also NR64NE 10.

On a rocky knoll which rises to a height of 9m above the shore there are the heavily robbed remains of a dun, measuring internally about 13.5m by 6m. The wall is reduced to a ragged stony bank which stands about 0.6m above the interior and is up to 4.5m thick in places. A short stretch of outer facing-stones is visible on the ENE, situated well below the crest of the knoll, and a large boulder which protrudes from the wall debris on the NE probably marks the position of the entrance. The interior is completely choked with shrubs.

RCAHMS 1971, visited 1963.

Dunan Buidhe is as described and planned by RCAHMS.

Surveyed at 1:10 000.

Visited by OS (J B) 20 January 1978.

Site difficult to confirm due to extremely overgrown state.

F Hood 1994, visited April 1993.
