Archaeology Notes

NR63NE 22 6914 3705

NR 691 370. A cup-marked boulder, 1.5m by 1.2 by 0.3m high lies in an arable field, 185m north of Auchadaduie, at a height of 75m OD. It bears three shallow cups.

RCAHMS 1971, visited 1962.

The stone mentioned by RCAHMS cannot be positively identified. A stone lying at NR 6907 3703 on the edge of a field among other cleared stones measures 1.2m by 1.2m and 0.3m high and bears three shallow cup marks. It is possibly the stone referred to above. The field to the east was cleared approximately five years ago.

At NR 6914 3705 is an angular boulder 1.6m by 1.3m by 0.8m high, it bears one shallow cup mark on the upper surface.

Surveyed at 1:10 000.
